What is desire?

It is yearning for happiness. Desire manifests because we forgot who we really are.
We imagine we are the body and the mind and that we will find fulfilment in experiences.
The whole world is manifesting out of desire.
My body is manifestation of my parents desire. From our parents desire we are here.
We can take desire as opportunity for waking up.
It is through desires and then its manifestations that consciousness confronts itself with its opposition – unconsciousness.
Thought appears and then desire materializes itself leading to experiences. Experience can bring understanding.
Sometimes we learn fast – through mistakes we gain some wisdom, sometimes slow – then life tends to repeat that what we did not understood.
Through pain life is calling itself for focus and attention.
When we are ready, mature enough and dedicated to face the truth, we can recognise that all experiences are teaching us crucial discrimination: what is temporary and what is not. We learn to discriminate shadow from its Essence, reflection from the Source, experience from That What Is.
Seeing this dynamic with clarity leads to enlightenment.
It is like waking up from a bad dream.
